Today’s photo is of Turin, Italy, as props to their local Juventus for their win over Napoli yesterday. The city is located in northwestern Italy, and is literally surrounded by mountains in all directions. Aside from its Shroud of Turin (i.e. local football clubs Juventus F.C. and Torino F.C.), this capital of the Piedmont region is well-known for its varied architecture and historical significance–e.g. Juvarra’s Palazzo Reale and Palazzo Madama, the latter of which was so admired by Napoleon that he made it his Turin residence.
