My friend gave me his board–a 2021 Lib Tech Orca, pictured above–to ride for the day. He kept telling me it would hold an edge no matter what, and uh… he was right! The ice patches were plentiful, but the magnetraction on the edges dug in just enough to keep me standing, and even the trees and moguls mostly felt easy.
Since the Orca isn’t much of a park board, I opted instead for the less busy side of the mountain, most of which consists of intermediate slopes and a few black diamonds. I was pleasantly surprised halfway down to find a boardercross course, full of tilted turns and rolling pump tracks. The run was beyond fun; needless to say, I hit it nearly 10 times. Sierra-at-Tahoe rules!
