The Blooms of Carrizo Plain

Destinations, iReports
Here’s a particularly vibrant series of hills covered in wildflowers. These only bloom for a couple of weeks at most each year, and not always to such an extent. Sights like this are to be treasured, I suppose.
This is the main road crossing the plain. If you keep going, you might come across some cows strolling along. It’s quite peaceful.
And here’s something completely unrelated to wildflowers: a lake only a foot or so deep, but otherwise filled to to the brim with mud. A few friends of mine had a mud wrestling capture the flag sort of event out here a while back. Warning: the mud dries QUICKLY. But it’s pretty satisfying to pick it off your legs.
