Haunting Heavenly Ski Resort

Destinations, iReports
My friend and I had to traverse and hike a solid amount to reach fresh powder so late in the day. He had remembered a certain sunlit patch that no one seemed to have ridden.
Here he is, keeled over his board near the top of our short climb. I was practically gasping for air by the time we felt we’d gone far enough. (P.S. That’s Nevada in the background; and I suppose we might have been in Nevada too.)
This is what we saw when a light fog washed over us. This shot isn’t even taken with a wide angle; the windblown skeletons and the mountain itself all seemed to encapsulate us.
Needless to say, the snow was fantastic.
